What is Kalachakra Dasha?
Kalachakra Dasha is a nakshatra-based system whose periods are ruled by signs rather than planets. Your birth nakshatra and its pada fix a sequence of nine signs and the direction in which the wheel turns: savya (forward) for some nakshatra groups, apasavya (reverse) for the others. Each sign rules a set number of years, from 4 for Capricorn and Aquarius to 21 for Cancer, so a full cycle runs 85 to 100 years depending on the pada.
Two signs in the sequence are named specially. Deha, the body sign, is the first sign of your cycle and is read for health and physical matters. Jeeva, the life sign, is the last and is read for the course of life itself. The periods of these two signs, and transits of Saturn and the nodes over them, are given particular attention in this system.
When astrologers use it
Kalachakra Dasha is a specialist system. Parashara ranks it among the most important, but its calculation has several traditions and comparatively few astrologers read it today. Those who do read it alongside Vimshottari, mostly for health and longevity questions. Tirth follows the most widely published method; another astrologer's table may differ by months.
Every tool uses the same chart and the same classical rules as your full Kundli report, so the results always agree with your reading.
