Panchang
Today is Trayodashi of Shukla Paksha in Bhadrapada month, with the Moon in Dhanishta Nakshatra. It is observed as Guru Pradosh Vrat. Rahu Kaal: 1:20 pm–2:51 pm. Abhijit Muhurat, traditionally considered auspicious, is from 11:25 am to 12:14 pm. The answers below are calculated for Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh and refresh every day.
On Thursday, 24 September 2026, the tithi in Varanasi is Trayodashi, from 10:51 pm (prev day) to 11:19 pm, followed by Chaturdashi, from 11:19 pm to 11:07 pm (next day). It falls in Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada (Amanta) / Bhadrapada (Purnimanta).
The Moon is in Dhanishta, from 09:09 am (prev day) to 10:35 am, then Shatabhisha, from 10:35 am to 11:22 am (next day) on Thursday, 24 September 2026 in Varanasi. The Moon is in Aquarius and the Sun in Virgo.
Rahu Kaal in Varanasi today (Thursday) runs from 01:20 pm to 02:51 pm. It is a period of about 90 minutes that is traditionally avoided for starting new ventures; its timing depends on the weekday and on local sunrise and sunset, so it differs from city to city.
In Varanasi on Thursday, 24 September 2026, sunrise is at 05:47 am and sunset at 05:52 pm; moonrise is at 04:26 pm. The Hindu day runs from sunrise to the next sunrise.
Abhijit Muhurat in Varanasi today is from 11:25 am to 12:14 pm, around local midday. It is traditionally considered a favourable window.
Auspicious daytime choghadiya today: Shubh 05:47 am–07:17 am; Labh 11:50 am–01:20 pm; Amrit 01:20 pm–02:51 pm; Shubh 04:22 pm–05:52 pm. Choghadiya divides the day and the night into eight parts each; Amrit, Shubh and Labh are the auspicious ones.
The Panchang is computed for the exact coordinates of Varanasi (25.32°N, 82.97°E) from the real positions of the Sun and Moon. Tithi, nakshatra, yoga and karana are shown with their start and end times, in Varanasi's local time.
“Panchang” means “five limbs”: tithi (lunar day), vaar (weekday), nakshatra (the lunar mansion the Moon occupies), yoga (a Sun–Moon angular combination) and karana (half of a tithi). Together with Rahu Kaal, Abhijit Muhurat and choghadiya, they are used to choose favourable times for prayers, travel and new beginnings.
