Panchang
Today is Chaturdashi of Shukla Paksha in Bhadrapada month, with the Moon in Shatabhisha Nakshatra. It is observed as Anant Chaturdashi and Ganesh Visarjan. Rahu Kaal: 10:19 am–11:49 am. Abhijit Muhurat, traditionally considered auspicious, is from 11:25 am to 12:13 pm. The answers below are calculated for Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh and refresh every day.
On Friday, 25 September 2026, the tithi in Varanasi is Chaturdashi, from 11:19 pm (prev day) to 11:07 pm, followed by Purnima, from 11:07 pm to 10:19 pm (next day). It falls in Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada (Amanta) / Bhadrapada (Purnimanta).
The Moon is in Shatabhisha, from 10:35 am (prev day) to 11:22 am, then Purva Bhadrapada, from 11:22 am to 11:32 am (next day) on Friday, 25 September 2026 in Varanasi. The Moon is in Aquarius and the Sun in Virgo.
Rahu Kaal in Varanasi today (Friday) runs from 10:19 am to 11:49 am. It is a period of about 90 minutes that is traditionally avoided for starting new ventures; its timing depends on the weekday and on local sunrise and sunset, so it differs from city to city.
In Varanasi on Friday, 25 September 2026, sunrise is at 05:47 am and sunset at 05:51 pm; moonrise is at 04:58 pm. The Hindu day runs from sunrise to the next sunrise.
Abhijit Muhurat in Varanasi today is from 11:25 am to 12:13 pm, around local midday. It is traditionally considered a favourable window.
Auspicious daytime choghadiya today: Labh 07:18 am–08:48 am; Amrit 08:48 am–10:19 am; Shubh 11:49 am–01:20 pm. Choghadiya divides the day and the night into eight parts each; Amrit, Shubh and Labh are the auspicious ones.
The Panchang is computed for the exact coordinates of Varanasi (25.32°N, 82.97°E) from the real positions of the Sun and Moon. Tithi, nakshatra, yoga and karana are shown with their start and end times, in Varanasi's local time.
“Panchang” means “five limbs”: tithi (lunar day), vaar (weekday), nakshatra (the lunar mansion the Moon occupies), yoga (a Sun–Moon angular combination) and karana (half of a tithi). Together with Rahu Kaal, Abhijit Muhurat and choghadiya, they are used to choose favourable times for prayers, travel and new beginnings.
