Shattila Ekadashi is an important Hindu festival that is celebrated on the 11 th day of Krishna Paksha in the month Magha. It is devoted to Lord Vishnu and is accompanied by different rites and fasting. Worshiper have a strict fast, worship Lord Vishnu, and employ six uses of sesame seeds in order to find blessings, prosperity, and spiritual cleansing. Devotees wake up early on this day, bathe in holy water with sesame seeds and create an idol of Lord Vishnu. They recite mantras, say prayers and aarti. On the following day the fast is broken at the Parana time.
