The Mangaluru Dasara is a big festival in Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Temple in which the Navarathri and Dasara festivities are celebrated. It starts with the setting up of idols of goddess Sharada, Mahaganapathi and Navadurga. It has a number of religious ceremonies including Durga homa, cultural shows and a half-marathon. On October 13, the great Dasara procession is held, with idols, colourful tableaus as well as traditional arts such as tiger dance and Kerala chende. The festival ends with immersion of the idols on October 14.
