The Magh Bihu or Bhogali Bihu, is a harvest festival which is observed in Assam at the end of the harvesting period. It is a period of feasts, bonfire and celebrations. The festival involves erection of temporary tents known as Meji and Bhelaghar where they are used to dine and eat traditional foods. The festivals include Assamese folk games, songs and dances. The festival is notable in the fact that it has the post-harvesting ceremonies in which individuals pray to Lord Agni Devta (Lord of Fire) and their embodied gods to bless and thank them in the fact that they have a good harvest.
