The Jagannath Rath Yatra is a major Hindu festival that is held every year in Puri, Odisha. It entails a gigantic chariot procession of the gods Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra of the Jagannath Temple to the Gundicha Temple. It is characterized by rhythmic singing of hymns, passionate spirit of the devotees drawing the chariots and a set of rituals such as the Rath Snana and Rath Pratistha. The gods spend nine days at the Gundicha Temple and then go back to the Jagannath Temple in the Bahuda Yatra.
