The Dree festival is an agricultural festival held by the Apatani tribe at the onset of a prolific harvest season. It consists of grand ceremonies, worship of four deities (Tamu, Harniang, Metii and Danyi), folk dances and offering of cucumbers, which are regarded as sacredness of vegetables. The festival is characterized by the colorful environment, folk attire, and rice and millet beer are served. It is a three day festival that brings together games and sports and merry making that help in community bonding and heritage.
