The Brahmatsava festival is a 9 day big festival celebrated in the Tirumala Tirupati Sri Venkateshwara Temple. It worships Lord Brahma who is thought to have opened the festival in order to give credit to Lord Venkateshwara (Balaji) in saving humankind. The festival is characterized by religious processions every day, in which the idol of Sri Venkateshwara is dragged in the streets in differing chariots, which get hundreds of thousands of followers who come in pursuit of blessings. The rituals are mainly Ankurarpana, planting navadhanyas (symbolizing prosperity and fertility) and Dwajarohanam, raising a flag bearing the navadhanyas logo to attract the deities. The devotees have deep spiritual ecstasy which is commonly referred to as Vaikunth Anubhav a divine relationship.
