What is Rashi compatibility?
In Vedic astrology, compatibility is read mainly from the Moon sign (Rashi): the sign the Moon occupied at birth. A Rashi compatibility check compares two Moon signs for how their elements and relationships fit together, and is a fast way to get a first impression before a full Kundli Milan.
Quick check versus full matching
This is a light read of the two Moon signs. For the complete traditional method (eight kootas scored out of 36 using nakshatras as well) a full Kundli Milan is needed.
Frequently asked questions
What is a Moon sign or Rashi?
The zodiac sign the Moon was in when you were born, in the Vedic (sidereal) system. It usually differs from your Sun sign.
How is this different from Kundli Milan?
It compares only the two Moon signs. Kundli Milan (Ashtakoot) also uses the birth nakshatras and scores eight kootas out of 36.
Do I need my birth time?
The Moon changes sign about every two and a quarter days, so your birth date is usually enough unless you were born near a sign change.
