Panchang
Today is Pratipada of Krishna Paksha in Shravana month, with the Moon in Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra. Rahu Kaal: 12:27 pm–2:10 pm. The answers below are calculated for Delhi, Delhi and refresh every day.
On Wednesday, 20 July 2016, the tithi in Delhi is Pratipada, from 04:27 am to 03:45 am (next day), followed by Dwitiya, from 03:45 am (next day) to 02:41 am (next day). It falls in Krishna Paksha of Ashadha (Amanta) / Shravana (Purnimanta).
The Moon is in Uttara Ashadha, from 03:47 pm (prev day) to 04:03 pm, then Shravana, from 04:03 pm to 03:54 pm (next day) on Wednesday, 20 July 2016 in Delhi. The Moon is in Capricorn and the Sun in Cancer.
Rahu Kaal in Delhi today (Wednesday) runs from 12:27 pm to 02:10 pm. It is a period of about 90 minutes that is traditionally avoided for starting new ventures; its timing depends on the weekday and on local sunrise and sunset, so it differs from city to city.
In Delhi on Wednesday, 20 July 2016, sunrise is at 05:35 am and sunset at 07:18 pm; moonrise is at 07:32 pm. The Hindu day runs from sunrise to the next sunrise.
There is no Abhijit Muhurat today (Wednesday). Traditionally it is not observed on Wednesdays.
Auspicious daytime choghadiya today: Labh 05:35 am–07:18 am; Amrit 07:18 am–09:01 am; Shubh 10:44 am–12:27 pm; Labh 05:36 pm–07:18 pm. Choghadiya divides the day and the night into eight parts each; Amrit, Shubh and Labh are the auspicious ones.
The Panchang is computed for the exact coordinates of Delhi (28.61°N, 77.21°E) from the real positions of the Sun and Moon. Tithi, nakshatra, yoga and karana are shown with their start and end times, in Delhi's local time.
“Panchang” means “five limbs”: tithi (lunar day), vaar (weekday), nakshatra (the lunar mansion the Moon occupies), yoga (a Sun–Moon angular combination) and karana (half of a tithi). Together with Rahu Kaal, Abhijit Muhurat and choghadiya, they are used to choose favourable times for prayers, travel and new beginnings.
