Panchang
Today is Chaturthi of Shukla Paksha in Vaishakha month, with the Moon in Ardra Nakshatra. It is observed as Vinayaka Chaturthi. Rahu Kaal: 1:39 pm–3:20 pm. Abhijit Muhurat, traditionally considered auspicious, is from 11:30 am to 12:24 pm. The answers below are calculated for Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh and refresh every day.
On Thursday, 17 May 2029, the tithi in Ayodhya is Chaturthi, from 11:21 pm (prev day) to 11:55 pm, followed by Panchami, from 11:55 pm to 12:00 am (next day). It falls in Shukla Paksha of Vaishakha (Amanta) / Vaishakha (Purnimanta).
The Moon is in Ardra, from 09:02 pm (prev day) to 10:18 pm, then Punarvasu, from 10:18 pm to 11:05 pm (next day) on Thursday, 17 May 2029 in Ayodhya. The Moon is in Gemini and the Sun in Taurus.
Rahu Kaal in Ayodhya today (Thursday) runs from 01:39 pm to 03:20 pm. It is a period of about 90 minutes that is traditionally avoided for starting new ventures; its timing depends on the weekday and on local sunrise and sunset, so it differs from city to city.
In Ayodhya on Thursday, 17 May 2029, sunrise is at 05:12 am and sunset at 06:42 pm; moonrise is at 08:00 am. The Hindu day runs from sunrise to the next sunrise.
Abhijit Muhurat in Ayodhya today is from 11:30 am to 12:24 pm, around local midday. It is traditionally considered a favourable window.
Auspicious daytime choghadiya today: Shubh 05:12 am–06:53 am; Labh 11:57 am–01:39 pm; Amrit 01:39 pm–03:20 pm; Shubh 05:01 pm–06:42 pm. Choghadiya divides the day and the night into eight parts each; Amrit, Shubh and Labh are the auspicious ones.
The Panchang is computed for the exact coordinates of Ayodhya (26.79°N, 82.20°E) from the real positions of the Sun and Moon. Tithi, nakshatra, yoga and karana are shown with their start and end times, in Ayodhya's local time.
“Panchang” means “five limbs”: tithi (lunar day), vaar (weekday), nakshatra (the lunar mansion the Moon occupies), yoga (a Sun–Moon angular combination) and karana (half of a tithi). Together with Rahu Kaal, Abhijit Muhurat and choghadiya, they are used to choose favourable times for prayers, travel and new beginnings.
