Panchang
Today is Amavasya of Krishna Paksha in Ashwin month, with the Moon in Purva Phalguni Nakshatra. It is observed as Sarva Pitru Amavasya, Ashwina Amavasya and Darsha Amavasya. Rahu Kaal: 7:19 am–8:51 am. Abhijit Muhurat, traditionally considered auspicious, is from 11:30 am to 12:19 pm. The answers below are calculated for Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh and refresh every day.
On Monday, 18 September 2028, the tithi in Ayodhya is Amavasya, from 03:47 am to 11:54 pm, followed by Pratipada, from 11:54 pm to 08:01 pm (next day). It falls in Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada (Amanta) / Ashwin (Purnimanta).
The Moon is in Purva Phalguni, from 06:25 pm (prev day) to 03:23 pm, then Uttara Phalguni, from 03:23 pm to 12:17 pm (next day) on Monday, 18 September 2028 in Ayodhya. The Moon is in Leo and the Sun in Virgo.
Rahu Kaal in Ayodhya today (Monday) runs from 07:19 am to 08:51 am. It is a period of about 90 minutes that is traditionally avoided for starting new ventures; its timing depends on the weekday and on local sunrise and sunset, so it differs from city to city.
In Ayodhya on Monday, 18 September 2028, sunrise is at 05:47 am and sunset at 06:02 pm; moonrise is at 05:03 am. The Hindu day runs from sunrise to the next sunrise.
Abhijit Muhurat in Ayodhya today is from 11:30 am to 12:19 pm, around local midday. It is traditionally considered a favourable window.
Auspicious daytime choghadiya today: Amrit 05:47 am–07:19 am; Shubh 08:51 am–10:23 am; Labh 02:58 pm–04:30 pm; Amrit 04:30 pm–06:02 pm. Choghadiya divides the day and the night into eight parts each; Amrit, Shubh and Labh are the auspicious ones.
The Panchang is computed for the exact coordinates of Ayodhya (26.79°N, 82.20°E) from the real positions of the Sun and Moon. Tithi, nakshatra, yoga and karana are shown with their start and end times, in Ayodhya's local time.
“Panchang” means “five limbs”: tithi (lunar day), vaar (weekday), nakshatra (the lunar mansion the Moon occupies), yoga (a Sun–Moon angular combination) and karana (half of a tithi). Together with Rahu Kaal, Abhijit Muhurat and choghadiya, they are used to choose favourable times for prayers, travel and new beginnings.
