Panchang
Today is Chaturthi of Krishna Paksha in Bhadrapada month, with the Moon in Purva Bhadrapada Nakshatra. It is observed as Sankashti Chaturthi. Rahu Kaal: 12:06 pm–1:45 pm. The answers below are calculated for Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh and refresh every day.
On Wednesday, 9 August 2028, the tithi in Ayodhya is Chaturthi, from 08:30 pm (prev day) to 10:56 pm, followed by Panchami, from 10:56 pm to 01:14 am (next day). It falls in Krishna Paksha of Shravana (Amanta) / Bhadrapada (Purnimanta).
The Moon is in Purva Bhadrapada, from 06:39 am to 06:39 am, then Uttara Bhadrapada, from 06:39 am to 09:36 am (next day) on Wednesday, 9 August 2028 in Ayodhya. The Moon is in Pisces and the Sun in Cancer.
Rahu Kaal in Ayodhya today (Wednesday) runs from 12:06 pm to 01:45 pm. It is a period of about 90 minutes that is traditionally avoided for starting new ventures; its timing depends on the weekday and on local sunrise and sunset, so it differs from city to city.
In Ayodhya on Wednesday, 9 August 2028, sunrise is at 05:29 am and sunset at 06:43 pm; moonrise is at 08:42 pm. The Hindu day runs from sunrise to the next sunrise.
There is no Abhijit Muhurat today (Wednesday). Traditionally it is not observed on Wednesdays.
Auspicious daytime choghadiya today: Labh 05:29 am–07:09 am; Amrit 07:09 am–08:48 am; Shubh 10:27 am–12:06 pm; Labh 05:03 pm–06:43 pm. Choghadiya divides the day and the night into eight parts each; Amrit, Shubh and Labh are the auspicious ones.
The Panchang is computed for the exact coordinates of Ayodhya (26.79°N, 82.20°E) from the real positions of the Sun and Moon. Tithi, nakshatra, yoga and karana are shown with their start and end times, in Ayodhya's local time.
“Panchang” means “five limbs”: tithi (lunar day), vaar (weekday), nakshatra (the lunar mansion the Moon occupies), yoga (a Sun–Moon angular combination) and karana (half of a tithi). Together with Rahu Kaal, Abhijit Muhurat and choghadiya, they are used to choose favourable times for prayers, travel and new beginnings.
