Panchang
Today is Ashtami of Krishna Paksha in Jyeshtha month, with the Moon in Shatabhisha Nakshatra. Rahu Kaal: 11:57 am–1:39 pm. The answers below are calculated for Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh and refresh every day.
On Wednesday, 17 May 2028, the tithi in Ayodhya is Ashtami, from 03:01 am (prev day) to 05:28 am, followed by Navami, from 05:28 am to 07:56 am (next day). It falls in Krishna Paksha of Vaishakha (Amanta) / Jyeshtha (Purnimanta).
The Moon is in Shatabhisha, from 02:01 am to 05:03 am (next day), then Purva Bhadrapada, from 05:03 am (next day) to 07:52 am (next day) on Wednesday, 17 May 2028 in Ayodhya. The Moon is in Aquarius and the Sun in Taurus.
Rahu Kaal in Ayodhya today (Wednesday) runs from 11:57 am to 01:39 pm. It is a period of about 90 minutes that is traditionally avoided for starting new ventures; its timing depends on the weekday and on local sunrise and sunset, so it differs from city to city.
In Ayodhya on Wednesday, 17 May 2028, sunrise is at 05:12 am and sunset at 06:43 pm; moonrise is at 12:44 am. The Hindu day runs from sunrise to the next sunrise.
There is no Abhijit Muhurat today (Wednesday). Traditionally it is not observed on Wednesdays.
Auspicious daytime choghadiya today: Labh 05:12 am–06:53 am; Amrit 06:53 am–08:35 am; Shubh 10:16 am–11:57 am; Labh 05:01 pm–06:43 pm. Choghadiya divides the day and the night into eight parts each; Amrit, Shubh and Labh are the auspicious ones.
The Panchang is computed for the exact coordinates of Ayodhya (26.79°N, 82.20°E) from the real positions of the Sun and Moon. Tithi, nakshatra, yoga and karana are shown with their start and end times, in Ayodhya's local time.
“Panchang” means “five limbs”: tithi (lunar day), vaar (weekday), nakshatra (the lunar mansion the Moon occupies), yoga (a Sun–Moon angular combination) and karana (half of a tithi). Together with Rahu Kaal, Abhijit Muhurat and choghadiya, they are used to choose favourable times for prayers, travel and new beginnings.
