Can I really do Kedarnath in just 4 days?+
Yes — the itinerary is tight but fully achievable. Day 1: Haridwar to Sitapur. Day 2: Trek to Kedarnath, evening aarti. Day 3: Morning darshan, return trek to Gaurikund, drive to Sitapur. Day 4: Drive back to Haridwar via Dhari Devi Temple. You spend a full night at Kedarnath and get both an evening darshan and an early morning darshan — which is the ideal experience.
What's the difference between this and the 5-day Delhi package?+
The Haridwar package is 1 day shorter and ₹1,200 cheaper per person. The Delhi package includes an extra Day 5 in Delhi and the Delhi–Haridwar overnight vehicle, making it better if you start and end in Delhi. The Haridwar package is ideal if you're already in Haridwar or nearby — you begin and end at Haridwar station or bus stand.
Is the trek 16 km or 18 km? I've seen both figures.+
The officially measured trek from Gaurikund to Kedarnath is approximately 16–18 km one way depending on the route taken. The direct route is closer to 16 km; the traditional route via Rambara is 18 km. The return journey is typically faster — 4–5 hours down vs 6–7 hours up. Pony, palki and pithu are available at Gaurikund at your own cost.
Is it safe to go in September–October?+
Yes — September–October (post-monsoon) is excellent for Kedarnath. The rains have cleared, the landscape is lush green, skies are crisp and clear with Himalayan peaks visible. Fewer crowds make darshan more personal. The weather is cooler (5–15°C) but manageable with proper clothing. This is our most recommended window for first-time pilgrims.
What time do we typically reach Kedarnath on Day 2?+
We depart Sitapur by 5 AM for Gaurikund. After a short drive, the trek begins by 6 AM. Walking at an average pace, most pilgrims reach Kedarnath by 12–2 PM. This gives you time to check in, rest, and attend the 5 PM evening aarti at the temple — a deeply moving ceremony you won't want to miss.
