What clothes should I carry for Kedarnath?+
Kedarnath sits at 3,583 m and temperatures can drop to 2–5°C even in May–June and below zero at night. Essential: a thick fleece or down jacket, thermal inner layers, waterproof outer jacket, sturdy trekking shoes (not sandals), gloves, woollen cap and at least 2 litres of water. Avoid carrying heavy bags — you'll be trekking 16 km each way.
